The ODM is the Party of western Kenya. When you go back in history you realize ODM has nurtured more political leaders in western than any other party.
You also realize our ideological side has waged, on behalf of the people, more brutal wars against an exclusionist, tyrannical state than any other side. In its other forms, whether KPU, FORD, FORD Kenya, NDP, LDP; our ideological side has remained the formation that represents the truest aspirations of the western people.
If Masinde Muliro was alive today; my reading of history tells me he would be in ODM!
No ideological side can also match our side in re-establishing western Kenya politicians who, failing to read the times, go astray.
This means that western people do not see ODM as party where they are mere ‘passengers’ and ‘others’ in the driving seat. There is no ‘them’ against us in ODM. They see ODM as a vehicle we all own. If it breaks down it is us to repair it. If it has no fuel it is us to fuel it.
If it catches fire, as it often do, it’s us to get water. If kids quarrel in it; is not reason to leave it. You don’t leave your home to stay at your neighbors because soon your neighbors start calling you ‘madimoni’.
This is one of the exposes of the ongoing #RailaInWestern tours.
