Former CIC boss charles Nyachae has told off the Kisii youth that are opposed to the Otamba declaration terming them silly madmen. Speaking on an interview at Egesa FM, Nyachae said the recent come together of a section of Gusii leaders majorly opposed to the Kisii County governor James Ongwae, is aimed at bringing Omogusii together.
According to pundits of Gusii politics, the State House crafted gusii unity team has hit a rock since its main objective is to take over the Gusii County leadership. It is believed that the cracks started emerging when Charles Nyachae and Chris Obure started fighting on who is suitable to run for Governor against the enigmatic James Ongwae who has scared everyone . Apparently, Obure wants to run for Governor with Nyachae as deputy, something that does not augur well with Nyachae.
While at Otamba the Nyaribari elders warned Charles not to side with Obure whom they believe hates Abanyaribari clan and that the Senator has lived his life fighting the Nyachae senior.
The Gusii unity caucus also known as otamba declaration received poor reception among the Abagusii community especially youth leaders and professionals. Radio callers and and social media comments implied a poor selfish strategy that cannot see the light of day.
Leaders of the Gusii Youth alliance chairman Essy Okenyuri and John Mokaya said the purported Gusii unity caucus is dead because it is for greedy leaders that are out to take advantage and suck Omogusii of their common wealth.
Look who are the people pushing for this Obure has been in Gusii politics forever. Why is it is that it is now he is realizing the Omogusii needs unity? Onyonka has a torent of court cases and he is trying to save himself by dancing to the Jubilee tune” Said Mokaya, a senior jubilee youth leader.
Mokaya said they support uhuru but not not with tumbocrats like Charles Nyachae who only consider their relatives for jobs.
Other youth who expressed anger include jared Mainya of bobasi who said time is up for Chris Obure. “Obure is like mugabe he has to let youth lead” Said Mainya.
He accused Obure of employing only his relatives in kisii county. Obure cant fool us. He is the greatest beneficiary of Ongwae government and now he has turned against the hand that feeds him” Added Mr. Mainya.
The Chairman of BONCHARI university students association Isaac motari cautioned the leaders against dividing the youth. Mr. Motari asked CS for education matiangi to stop dividing Omogusii for his personal gain. Why is he not having dialogue with all leaders?”
ODM young leaders and luminaries led by renowned City Entrepreneurs Anthony kibagendi (Incoming MP for Kitutu Chache South and Silvanus Osoro of South mugirango said that the Gusii leaders that have suddenly turned beggars at Jubilee are selfish and want to safeguard their economic statuses and are out to fill their stomachs.
Others who rallied youths against the caucus include young City billionaire Geoffrey mosiria who is also a student leader at the university of nairobi.
University student leaders Horace Gwako, Thomas Obure., Wesley Onyinkwa and Generali Osumo wondered why the said Gusii leaders left out leaders from Nyamira, the youth, women and the disabled if indeed their intention was genuine.
Lawyer Steve Mogaka dismissed the proponents of Gusii Unity for being gluttonous and anti-developmental.
Early this week during a radio talk show attended by Charles Nyachae and prominent university student leader John Otao Nyachae called the youth questioning the unity talks CHIBARIMO (madmen) and silly people who should not talk infront of elders.
Most youth in Kisii accused Richard tongi and Richard Onyonka for running away with money meant for development and donations received from president Uhuru Kenyatta through Moses Kuria.
Duke Mainga an aspirant for Bomachoge borabu MP accused the current MPs of selfishly misleading the Gusii community for their personal gain.
“We promise you we will not allow you to be reelected in Bomachoge borabu because your closeness to Jubilee government has not helped Omomachoge” He cited unmotorable roads and corruption in bursary fund allocation.
In Kitutu Chache North Aspiring youth leaders for MP equally rallied to lock out Jimmy angwenyi who they say sells them for peanuts. Aspiring youth MPs Albert Amenya and Japhet nyakundi said they will rally women and youth to bring change in Gusii. They supported the good work of Governor Ongwae and praised him for being sober
Bobasi aspirant and Kisii diaspora network coordinator Joseph Lister nyaringo termed Obure as selfish and interested only in safeguarding his interest. “Ongwae will be reelected because he has performed well. Obure should stop fighting him” Said Mr. Nyaringo.
Nyaribari Chache youth leader Raymond Ratemo dismissed the infamous Otamba meeting. Mr. Ratemo said Nyaribari Chache will support the Ongwae government.
Meanwhile the money given for Kenyenya and Gesero has caused quandaries among the organisers. Youth leader Charles Onyancha of Bonchari has distanced himself from the State House token in fear that the same will haunt him and harm his campaigns.
Leaders from Nyamira County asked fellow youth from kisii not to be cheated into the so called Gusii Unity.

“That was a meeting led by an octogenarian who wants to be Governor using the back door. Boardroom deals are over. They don’t want to include youth and youthful aspirants because they are greedy for govt positions and resources” Said Mr. Gisesa.
It is alleged that the Gusii unity caucus has set aside 3million for the Kenyenya/Bomachoge Borabu and Gesero/Bonchari rallies scheduled to take place this weekend. The money is to ferry busloads of youth and pay them to attend the rallies. Youth leaders have however grown jittery with the Otamba clique.
